Aro Valley junior beautician wins industry award
Aro Valley beauty therapist Charlotte Redshaw has won an Australasian industry award recognising outstanding achievement in skin care.
Ms Redshaw, 20, is this year’s Dermaviduals Australasia Junior Corneotherapist of the Year.
She received the award for being the best junior, working with Dermaviduals product for less than two years, able to demonstrate and adhere to Corneotherapy principles.
“Corneotherapy is really a fancy word to describe a particular approach to skin care – an approach based on achieving beautiful skin using the highest-quality products, understanding how the skin functions and giving it what it needs.
“To me, beauty is not just about the latest make-up or anti-ageing fad. It’s about doing what we can to enhance what people have naturally – and excellent skin care is part of that.
“This award recognises my passion for this approach. It’s such a great achievement and I’m really proud of myself. I can’t wait to learn more and put it into practice,” says Ms Redshaw, who has just completed her study of beauty therapy at WelTec and is a beauty therapist at Aro Valley’s skinfocus.
Employer Helen Daly is also proud of Charlotte’s achievement, saying it further endorses her clinic’s skin care approach.
“We’re doing something a bit different, here, at skinfocus. We’re putting healthy skin first. We’re putting it in front of chemicals, injections and all the latest fads. We’re really about helping people make the very best of what they’ve got. And we’re seeing incredible results.
“Our clients look brighter, more youthful – and they’re achieving it naturally. This approach was outlined in detail in Charlotte’s entry and it scored her top marks. I’m delighted.”
