MDS Sciex Signs Distribution Agreement with Biolab for Australian and New Zealand Market - Biolab to Distribute ProteoSpin(TM) Consumable Kits

MDS Sciex, the analytical instrumentation and technology solutions division of MDS Inc. (TSX: MDS; NYSE:MDZ), and Biolab, Australasia's largest and leading provider of scientific instruments and consumables to the scientific and medical markets, announced the signing of a distributorship agreement for MDS Sciex's new line of protein purification products called ProteoSpin(TM). Biolab will have the sales and marketing and support rights for this product line in Australia and New Zealand.

Biolab will unveil the ProteoSpin technology at the 29th Lorne Conference on Protein Structure and Function from February 8 to 12, 2004 in Lorne, Australia.
