The General Manager of Mental Health Services for the
Canterbury District Health Board, Vince Barry has confirmed
today that an individual has been admitted to Hillmorton
Hospital in Christchurch following an incident at Arthur’s
Pass late yesterday.
The individual has been remanded to
the Forensic Inpatient Services at Hillmorton Hospital for
the purposes of a psychiatric report.
It is understood he
has been receiving care from the West Coast District Health
Board.
All other matters remain before the court and there
will be no further comment.
