Media Release – Lesley Martin

Right to Life is disappointed that the Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal has rejected the request of the Nursing Council to have Lesley Martin a euthanasia campaigner struck off the Nursing register.

The Tribunal has a responsibility to uphold the sanctity of life ethic and to protect the vulnerable in our community especially the handicapped and the terminally ill. There is no place in the nursing profession for a nurse who has been found guilty of attempting to kill her dying mother, who was her patient.Lesley Martin also refused palliative care for her mother. To her shame she has expressed no remorse.

It is incompatible for a nurse committed to providing ethical care to patients within a culture of life to be an advocate for the euthanasia society which is promoting a culture of death.
