Health TV is coming to a medical centre waiting room near you soon.
A new channel which aims to entertain and educate people as they wait to see a health professional, Health TV has been developed by an enterprising group of young Kiwis who recognised the potential of a new technology and the opportunity to do some good.
· Health TV is narrowcast via internet protocol technology (IPTV).
· Short programming covering health, wellbeing and lifestyle made by Kiwis, for Kiwis.
· Health TV's programming showcases New Zealand music; profiles Kiwi icons and emerging talents; and tells inspiring stories about individuals who are doing good in their communities.
· Free to doctors.
· No prescription, junk food or soft drink advertising.
· Health TV is not a corporate!
· Health TV was started from a bedroom three years ago and has been developed by a young and talented team who believed they could make a good idea work.
· Most staff have invested in the company personally.
· Health TV conducted a trial service in five medical centres in Auckland and Wellington which AC Nielsen researched.
