Source of Child Abuse Prevention Information

An Important New Source of Child Abuse Prevention Information

Child AbuseWatch ( www.abusewatch.info) (CAI) arrived in New Zealand last month with little fan fare. CAI is an international provider of information on child abuse awareness and prevention. CAI’s mission is ‘the protection of children from abuse.”

CAI was developed in response to the need for a one-stop-shop for child abuse information. Though many other organizations and websites provide some elements, CAI provides the whole picture. Visitors can learn all they want to know on the subject. As the site promises; spending 20 minutes reading the Child Abuse menu and “will know more about protecting a child from abuse than 95% of the people you meet today; tomorrow, or the next day.”

In addition to providing child abuse education for the public, CAI provides extensive local crisis and victim service contacts. Further the site provides resources for the medical and police communities for personnel new to child abuse investigation. CAI’s goal is to provide free child abuse prevention and education to a worldwide audience of parents and caregivers.

Their rationale is that an educated parent equals a protected child. Content management is overseen by medical and police professions including the physician head of a U.S. based Child Protective Team who has spent a lifetime providing child abuse response services. Child AbuseWatch is not affiliated with any political, religious or cultural group. They do not accept donations. CAI has three websites customized for world regions. In addition to New Zealand, they have a presence in Australia, the U.S., Canada, Europe, and South Africa.
