Zumba®Happiness benefits mental health

Zumba®Happiness benefits mental health

The theme for this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week is “GET IN THE GAME - Training for happiness” and cityfitness Zumba instructors are supporting the week by hosting Zumba®Happiness classes to encourage New Zealander’s to get off the couch, get active and invest in their mental and physical wellbeing.

Mental Health Awareness Week is taking place between 10-16 October and is celebrating the five winning ways to wellbeing; connect, give, take notice, learn and be active, all of which are elements of the Zumba®Happiness classes.

Allyson Donnelly, cityfitness Director of Group Fitness says ‘Exercise is such a powerful way to develop or maintain a positive mental state. cityfitness is excited to be a part of mental health awareness week – we share Zumba’s philosophy that exercise can be both fun and results-oriented. We invite our local communities to come experience a class and the cityfitness gyms to support this great cause.”
