New Clinical Leader for Waikato Public Health

An experienced New Zealand public health clinician has stepped down from her position as clinical leader of Waikato District Health Board's public health team after nearly 18 years.

Dr Dell Hood is reducing her hours to enjoy other aspects of her life in preparation for retirement. The new clinical leader for the service is Dr Anita Bell who has a particular interest in the management of communicable diseases.
Dr Hood has been instrumental in developing a partnership management model within the service and has instigated the service's governance group as one of the key facets to achieve this. She is highly respected as a font of public health knowledge both within the organisation and outside, especially all matters environmental.

She will continue to work three days a week.


Dr Richard Wall is the new public health specialist to join the team of Anita Bell, Felicity Dumble, Dell Hood and Richard Wall.
