Waipareira and Waitemata DHB join forces

Waipareira and Waitemata DHB join forces

The colocation of Waitemata District Health Board Services to Waipareira’s Whanau Centre shows how government and non-government agencies can work together to do what’s best for the community.

The Waitemata DHB moved parts of its secondary services to the multi-million dollar Waipareira facilities, in the heart of west Auckland.

That was officially celebrated today by both organisations.

At a presentation to start a week long celebration of partnerships – culminating on Friday with the release of Waipareira’s 25 Year Strategic Plan - Waipareira CEO John Tamihere congratulated Waitemata DHB for thinking outside the square.

“Both of our organisations have a duty to do what is right for our community,” John said.

“Waipareira is extremely pleased the Waitemata DHB executives and their Board have given us a solid platform for an on-going relationship.

“I am confident that will hopefully pave the way for more services to relocate to Whānau Centre.”

Waitemata DHB CEO Dr Dale Bramley says Whānau Centre symbolises the shared goals of the DHB and the Trust.

“We both want to see the best outcomes for Māori in our district,” Dr Bramley said.

“Having one centre housing key services from both our DHB and the Trust ensures that our communities can access support that they may require in one handy convenient location.

“This integrated approach to service delivery is vital in ensuring that Māori can achieve the best possible outcomes for themselves and their whānau.”
