Guild congratulates Community Pharmacy of the Year winner

The Pharmacy Guild of New Zealand (the Guild) congratulates David Postlewaight, owner of David’s Pharmacy in Kamo, for winning the Community Pharmacy of the Year Award at the 2013 Pharmacy Awards, held at the Langham Hotel in Auckland on Saturday 8 June.

Guild Chief Executive, Lee Hohaia, believes the success of Guild members at this year’s Pharmacy Awards reflects the high quality of service provided by member pharmacies.

“The high number of Guild pharmacies represented among the finalists indicates the excellent care that our members are providing to their communities”, Mrs Hohaia says.

This year, for the first time, the award was given to the pharmacy that was ranked the highest by its patients. More than 18,000 patients from 253 community pharmacies completed and returned an extensive user satisfaction survey.

Using the response to how the question: “How likely is it that you would recommend this pharmacy to a friend or colleague?” a net promoter score was generated for each pharmacy. A net promoter score is a measure of customer loyalty. It can be as low as 100 or as high as +100. A net promoter score of +50 is considered excellent.

“Across all participating pharmacies, the net promoter score for New Zealand community pharmacy was +74 and that is world best practice”, noted Guild President Karen Crisp. She went on to add that “the winner, David’s Pharmacy, had a net promoter score of +99. That is an outstanding achievement”.
