Orion Health Continuing Christchurch Recruitment Drive

Orion Health Continuing Christchurch Recruitment Drive with a Focus on Developing Emerging IT Talent

Orion Health are pushing ahead with aggressive expansion plans for their Christchurch development centre in order to resource a range of new overseas projects, and successfully implement the current Southern Alliance project with the five South Island District Health Boards.

In order to continue to deliver world-leading software solutions, the recruitment of high caliber staff remains a key focus for New Zealand’s largest privately owned software exporter.

Orion Health have traditionally set their sights on employing the best and brightest emerging Software Engineering and Computer Science professionals, something the company recognizes as being critical to it’s longevity and ongoing success. This is simply essential in ensuring high quality product development, testing and delivery says Jan Behrens, Development Location Manager.

“We know our demands are high, but Orion Health staff can expect strong leadership, ongoing personal and professional development, and have the assurance that they’ll be in the top 3% of IT staff in the country” says Behrens

Invigorating the entire New Zealand IT resource pool has emerged as a key priority for Orion Health to ensure they can successfully continue to resource their growth plans in the medium to long term. This has seen them heavily involved in the promotion of IT to secondary school students, in an effort to drive uptake into Information Science, Software Engineering and Computer Science university degrees.

As a direct result of these efforts, Orion Health was recently named a finalist in the 2013 CIO Awards for the newly created category “Engaging Youth in ICT”.
