Finding A Cure For Breast Cancer

Finding A Cure For Breast Cancer

Each year over 650 people die because of breast cancer, and yet it is something that can be preventable if diagnosed early. According to the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation 30% of eligible women don’t have regular mammograms and 60% of young women don’t know the signs beyond a lump. For this reason, it is, and much promotion will still be needed.

Three years ago Zumba Fitness launched the Party in Pink™ charity campaign in the fight against breast cancer. Since then, together with Zumba® Instructors and fans, Zumba’ve raised over US$3 million worldwide. Now we want to take it to the next level and work toward preventing breast cancer before it starts. This unique and innovative grant will study the effects of flaxseed consumption on pre-menopausal women as a safe, low-cost, highly accessible solution to help prevent breast cancer on a global scale. Led by an interdisciplinary team of renowned scientists at two top research institutions – The University of Kansas Medical Center and The University of Texas at Austin – this groundbreaking research will include cutting-edge pre-clinical studies and a multi-center clinical trial in the prevention of breast cancer.

It’s time to party, prevent and prevail together! Let’s exercise our right to unite as a Zumba® community worldwide for the first ever medical research grant exclusively representing Zumba. This year’s goal isUS$1 million, and all funds we raise will go to the Zumba® Global Research Grant for Breast Cancer Prevention. That means 100% of ticket fees raised from our Party in Pink™ Zumbathon® charity events will go directly toward breast cancer prevention research, with absolutely no administration fees (Content provided by a Zumba Official Website).

On the 18 Oct Friday, with the sponsorship of the Auckland Netball Centre we are able to host around 600 people together. We want people to come to celebrate the life that have been impacted by the breast cancer. Write your comments on our Facebook page and tell us whose life are you celebrating? Mothers, sisters, friends or whoever that has left an imprint in your life. Let us do it together and celebrate. (A BIG SHOUT OUT to Eventfinda Pro to sponsoring Party In Pink and making online ticket possible http://www.eventfinder.co.nz/2013/party-in-pink/auckland/st-johns).
