Mike McRoberts urges shoppers to drop the pressure

Mike McRoberts from 3News lends a hand to launch the Stroke Foundation’s 2013 blood pressure awareness campaign by having his pressure tested by St John paramedic Simon Barnett at Victoria Park New World in Auckland this morning (2 October).

St John volunteers assisted by Rotary will offer free checks to shoppers on Saturday 5 October at most New World and PAK’nSAVE supermarkets throughout New Zealand between 10am and 2pm. A full list of venues is at www.stroke.org.nz.

There is a strong association between high blood pressure and strokes and the message of the campaign is to know what your blood pressure should be and have it checked regularly.
