Nelson Regional Breast Cancer Trust paints the town pink

MEDIA RELEASE

6th October 2014.

Nelson Regional Breast Cancer Trust paints the town pink.

The Nelson Regional Breast Cancer Trust has teamed up with local businesses to paint the town pink this October.

The trust hopes the initiative will help raise awareness for its upcoming major annual fundraiser Boot Camp for Breast Cancer, which takes place on Sunday 16th November.

Local cafes, Vanilla, Bridge St Collective, Red (at Red Art Gallery) and FORDS, together with the Artisan Bakery will be donating funds from sweet treats sold throughout the month, and local bars, HARRYS, FORDS, Café Affair and Rhythm & Brown have all created pink cocktails for the occasion.

Kate Donaldson from KO COSMETICS at JAYS & KO has created a limited edition pink lip-gloss and Benjamin Black Goldsmiths will be auctioning a custom designed pink ring on Trade Me.

The initiative has spread to Blenheim, where Methode Traditionelle Specialists, No. 1 Family Estate, have pledged to donate $3.50 from each bottle of No. 1 Rose sold via their online store or at their cellar door throughout the month of October.

Nelson Regional Breast Cancer Trust trustee, Kate Coote says, “As a local charitable organisation it’s so important that we continue to raise our profile. There are still people out there who have not heard of us or the work we do.” She continues, “Every cent the Nelson Regional Breast Cancer Trust raises, stays right here within the area governed by the Nelson Marlborough District Health Board and we’re continually grateful for the support we receive from locals.”

The Nelson Regional Breast Cancer Trust welcome support from any other organisations that would like to help paint the town pink this October and ask any businesses that would like to be involved to email kate@nrbct.co.nz.
