Sparkle 2015 Set to Light up Hawke’s Bay

Sparkle 2015 Set to Light up Hawke’s Bay

Get set to ‘sparkle’ at Hawke’s Bay’s new premier black tie event, a glamorous fundraiser taking place at Mana Lodge on Saturday, 23 May in aid of Cranford Hospice.

To be held in a majestic marquee in the lodge’s lovely gardens, guests will enjoy delicious food and wine matched by the region’s leading chefs, wineries and restaurants.

The inaugural Sparkle 2015 event promises to be an unforgettable evening of luxurious fun, with Alison Mau as the MC, entertainment from John Fletcher and the Big Jazz Band, and an auction. Many generous sponsors have contributed to an interesting mix of auction lots, including a handcrafted diamond and white gold pendant from Unio Goldsmith, two David Trubridge light pieces, an eyelid lift from Eye Surgeons of Hawke’s Bay and a Winter Sparkle Party package. The bidding process will be ‘short and sweet’, leaving ample time for guests to relax, mingle and enjoy the hospitality on offer in beautiful surroundings.

The chance to support Sparkle was embraced by Lady Deborah Holmes, who has a very personal relationship with Cranford Hospice.

“Helen Blaxland and her team do an outstanding job in the community. They took such wonderful care of Paul in his final months of life and provided incredible support for our family. When I was approached by PSEC about providing Mana Lodge as the venue for a fundraising event for Cranford Hospice I had no hesitation in agreeing.”

Shirley Collins, Presbyterian Support East Coast’s Fundraising, Marketing and Communications Manager, says Sparkle will not only support Cranford Hospice but also provide a showcase of Hawke’s Bay’s best.

“With Sparkle 2015 we are setting a new standard in gala events in the region, from the venue, food and wine to the breathtaking décor planned by Havelock North’s Suzanne Hardy from Style Me Vintage.”

Suzanne Hardy says she’s very excited to support Cranford Hospice by being part of Sparkle 2015.

“We will be showcasing Hawke's Bay’s finest. Just imagine a red carpet entry at Mana Lodge, surrounded by the most stunning formal landscapes, and being welcomed into our world of sparkle for an evening. Cranford Hospice is a wonderful service that has touched most of our lives, and relies upon major community fundraising. It’s wonderful to see that tickets sales for the event are already well supported, but if you haven’t got yours yet don’t delay. You don’t want to miss out on the most glamorous event on the Hawke's Bay calendar!”

A service of Presbyterian Support East Coast, Cranford Hospice requires over $2.1 million in
donations each year to provide their services free of charge to the people of Hawke’s Bay.

Cranford Hospice’s General Manager, Helen Blaxland says once again she is humbled by the
generosity of the Hawke’s Bay community.

“It is wonderful to see the enthusiasm and creativity of this fundraising initiative – my personal thanks to the volunteer committee, the Presbyterian Support East Coast fundraising team, all the supporters and of course everyone who has already bought tickets.”

“If an evening of luxury, glamour and good fun sounds like something you would enjoy, you simply can’t miss it. Come and experience the finest of everything Hawke’s Bay has to offer and support Cranford at the same time – all we need is you!”
