Patron of the New Zealand Multiple Sclerosis Research Trust

Sir William Gallagher appointed Patron of the New Zealand Multiple Sclerosis Research Trust

The New Zealand Multiple Sclerosis Research Trust (“NZMSRT”) today announces that Sir William Gallagher is to take up the position of Patron of the Trust.

Sir William, who is one of New Zealand’s most respected businessmen and still spends much of his time representing Gallagher internationally, said he was honoured to be invited to be Patron of the Trust.

NZMSRT Chairman Tim Preston said “Having someone of the calibre of Sir William as our Patron is a huge endorsement of the Trust and will add substantial credibility to what the Trust is looking to achieve.”

“We would like to thank Sir William for taking on the role of Patron of NZMSRT. We are very excited to have the support of such a well-respected person with high integrity and his professional approach will be of huge benefit to us.”

Sir William has a reputation as a dynamic leader and is known for establishing strong relationships with his staff and business partners.

His achievements have been officially recognised by a string of awards, the latest to mark his commitment to enterprise and leadership skills being his Knighthood in the 2010 New Year’s Honours List. He was also the 1996 winner of the prestigious Excellence in Communication Leadership award, the first time in its history that it had been awarded outside of North America. He also received an MBE in 1987 followed by a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit (CNZM) in 1998.
