Holistic Health for Pets; What’s It All About?

Holistic Health for Pets; What’s It All About?

Our pets often have a very special place in the family but unlike other family members they can’t simply tell us when they are not well.

To help us to know when they need help, internationally acclaimed Holistic Veterinarian and best-selling author Dr Deva Khalsa will share her knowledge in a free talk on holistic health for pets at the Hastings Library on Tuesday 9 February at 6.30pm.

Aside from her impressive career as a vet who consults, practices and teaches internationally, Dr Khalsa says she loves sharing her knowledge with the public.

“The health and well-being of animal companions may depend on owners taking the time to learn what is best for their pets. While tempted to treat pets as humans, owners need to understand that their special friends have needs specific to their species.”

Dr Khalsa says like other health professionals there are animal doctors who train in various disciplines.

She does not exclude any body of medical or health theory; instead she becomes educated about as many forms possible. She evaluates and applies the most effective techniques in each, resulting in a rewarding career and a reputation as a life-saver for ailing animals.

The Second Edition of Dr. Khalsa’s book Natural Dog was released in July 2015. She co-authored, Healing Your Horse: Alternative Therapies and has published numerous articles on pet health and designed a unique line of vitamins for dogs and cats.
