Go Sugar Free September - Raising Money for Diabetes NZ
Go Sugar Free September - Raising Money for Diabetes New Zealand
Go Sugar Free September is a 30 day challenge where you try to eliminate all ‘added’ sugars from your diet.
This includes any product made with or ‘containing’ refined sugar or higher glycaemic natural sugars such as maple syrup, agave syrup, honey or dates.
Go Sugar Free September’s aim is to create AWARENESS around how much sugar from added to hidden, may be coming into your daily diet.
Sugar or excess carbohydrates, found in so many processed, low nutrient food but also many ‘health’ foods are responsible for a number of health concerns from inducing type 2 Diabetes to poor sleep, low energy levels, fatigue, digestive concerns, dental issues, cravings and weight gain.
Why do the challenge?
Go Sugar Free September’s aim is to help you give your body a rest from the sugar for 30 days and see if you feel the wellness benefits of having less sugar in your diet.
You may be new to this or just need a ‘restart’ back into good eating habits but being aware of the food you are buying from sauces to cereals can have a big effect on your mood, energy, digestion, concentration and waistline.
This challenge is to help you get back to basics including looking at the ingredients list, the nutrition panel, identifying hidden sugars, gaining new ideas for meals and snacks and ultimately having some extra accountability around your food choices from groceries to takeaways (plus we can probably save you money) all while doing it in a fun supportive way!
Let’s face it, sometimes we know what to do but we just don’t do it…this will help put knowledge into ACTION!
PLUS Go Sugar Free September are partnering with Diabetes New Zealand to help raise money for the foundation so they can continue their great work in preventative advocacy, support work and research helping thousands of kiwis with type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
For more information please contact Go Sugar Free September via the website.
