New Gen 3 Ambulance for Christchurch

New Gen 3 Ambulance for Christchurch

334 words

A new Gen 3 ambulance will be dedicated this week in recognition of the impressive support given to St John by Generation Homes.

The latest model in the St John fleet, the Gen 3 has among other changes an improved interior layout allowing ambulance officers to work more efficiently and comfortably when treating patients.

The new Gen 3 ambulance has been named after Generation Homes with a dedication ceremony to be held this coming Wednesday. It will then be stationed where needed in the region.

St John relies on the support of individuals and businesses for much needed funding to provide their vital community services and Generation Homes Christchurch has prioritised giving to St John since its beginning with a long-term goal to donate an ambulance.

Regional Generation Homes Christchurch partners, Nadja and Evan Beker have been at the forefront of this support, donating both time and money. Their firm project managed the St John Rolleston station renovations with the company’s Construction Manager, Mike Sands coordinating the building work.

“We’re happy to actively support such an amazing and valuable contributor and supporter of the Christchurch community,” says Evan.

2018 marks the fifth anniversary of this relationship and as the company approaches $100,000 in giving, the team at St John is excited to recognise Generation Homes’ support for its lifesaving work with this dedicated Gen 3 ambulance.

Generation Homes is a leading player in the construction of residential homes, in the North Island since 1997 and locally since 2013. Their St John ambulance donation has been a joint initiative between the national and Christchurch operations.

Generation Homes’ support reflects the St John motto: ‘You don’t have to wear the uniform to be a St John hero’.

“This ambulance is proof of the impact a single business can have on keeping their community healthy. By donating lifesaving equipment, Generation Homes is helping ensure people receive highest quality care when needed most,” says Debbie Pipson, Fundraising and Marketing Manager for St John in the South Island region.
