Inspiring People get a new website

A new website (www.inspiringpeople.co.nz) showcases Waikato's aged care sector and provides a place for those working in it to share information.

The website is another success for a joint workforce development project between home-based and residential aged care providers and Waikato District Health Board.

Other outcomes of the project have been the inaugural Waikato Times "Make a Difference Awards" held in March this year, and a range of 'inspiring people' promotional material that can be ordered on the website.

Waikato DHB chief executive Craig Climo said the website would help those working with older people to positively promote the value of their work, support recruitment and careers in aged care, and find more opportunities for collaboration across the sector.

Project manager Bee Pears said the website highlights that working with older people is both challenging, skilled and very rewarding. "There are so many nurses, caregivers and managers in the aged care sector whose energy, passion and skills are inspiring. Our hope is that this website will support them and inspire others to join them."

The website will be managed by a small voluntary group of sector representatives [refer to the site's Contact Us page], and supported technically by Waikato District Health Board.
