In 2008 nine year old Cassidy Megan started Purple Day to encourage people to talk about epilepsy and seizures and let others with epilepsy know that they are not alone.
Celebrated on 26 March every year, this years’ Purple Day asks the question “if you witnessed a child or adult having a seizure would you know what to do?”
In the past, families of children with epilepsy have managed the risk of seizures by sleeping in the same room as the child, allowing them to quickly respond to the seizure.
