Cyclist accident near Ohakune

Press Release: Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter

At about 1:00pm yesterday(3 March) the Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter Responded to a call to an injured cyclist near Ohakune. The cyclist, a 54 year old male, sustained upper body injuries after falling from his mountain bike near the Hapuawhenua Viaduct.

He was stabilised by St John paramedic and then airlifted to Wanganui.

For further information regarding the patient condition please contact St John Ambulance or Wanganui Hospital Staff.
