East Timor - Demonstration

East Timor - Demonstration

There will be a demonstration tomorrow at 12.30pm outside the Indonesian Embassy, 70 Glen Rd Kelburn (Wellington), to express outrage at the Indonesian authorities' refusal to prevent the violence of the paramilitaries in East Timor, which has resulted in the deaths of at least 10 Timorese UNAMET staff in the past couple of days, and countless other Timorese in recent months. It is also an opportunity to call on Indonesia to request the assistance of the UN in the form of an armed international peacekeeping force in East Timor. Regards Louise May Caritas
