Today in the Christian calender it is Maundy Thursday of Holy Week. This day Christians recall the night of the last supper in Jerusalem. This was the night before Jesus Christ, the carpenter from Galilee who is believed by Christians to be the Son of God, was arrested and crucified by the Roman authorities.

The following pictures show the Chrism Mass held today in the Wellington Anglican Cathedral of St Paul. In the service the Anglican Clergy assembled with their Bishop and renewed their vows. Oils used in Christian rituals were also blessed.
