Parliament is about to go into extraordinary urgency for
unspecified busines following a debate on the Waitara
shooting presently underway.
At the beginning of Question
Time today Richard Prebble raised the matter with the
Speaker and asked what the urgency was to be about. The
Speaker Jonathan Hunt said he did not know.
Extraordinary
Urgency allows the government to pass legislation in quick
time and is used on occasion to clarify legal matters of
significant
consequence.
