Feedback: Defence Report

Sir,

One has to wonder about the content of the long delayed Carruthers Defence report on allegations of improper lobbying among defence circles.

Originally due out last October and supposed to have been released this week, it has now been further delayed until the first week in May.

With Anzac Day upon us this week, is it more than just coincidence that release of the report has now been delayed until next week.

One can only conclude there are serious issues raised in the report that the government would not wish aired in the lead-up to the day. A day which, perhaps more than any other we celebrate, the majority of New Zealanders consider being that which celebrates not only our coming of age, but nationhood as well.
