Poll Watch: Herald DigiPoll Has Surprises Galore

A snap NZ-Herald DigiPoll conducted over the weekend shows remarkably different results than all previous Herald DigiPolls, and for that matter all previous polls full stop.

In addition to a remarkable surge in the vote for the previously fairly invisible United Future NZ, up from 1.1% to 6.6%, Labour has fallen six points in less than a week, NZ First has surged forward to over 10% and the Greens.have dropped 4.5 points.

The snap poll surveyed 512 voters, compared to the usual Digipoll sample of closer to 900.

SNAP POLL PARTY VOTE STANDINGS (Last Week’s Digipoll Results In Brackets)

Labour 40.8% (46.7%)
National 23.6% (23.1%)
Green 6.9% (11.3 %)
NZ First 10.2% (8.3%)
ACT 8.1% (5.5%)
United Future 6.6% (1.1%)
Other 3.8% (Jim Anderton’s Progressive Coalition 1.3%, Christian Heritage1.3%, Alliance 0.4%)

Poll sample size 512. Margin of error + or – 4.3%
