Scoop Link: JI responsible for Jakarta bombing |

Jemaah Islamiah (JI) claims, in a purported Internet statement, that it is responsible for a bomb attack on the Australian Embassy in Jakarta that has killed nine people.
The statement warns of more attacks unless Australia withdraws its forces from Iraq.
"We decided to make Australia pay in Jakarta today when one of the mujahideen brothers carried out a martyrdom (suicide) operation at the Australian embassy," the Arabic statement said.
The statement purports to be from the "al-Jama'a al-Islamiya in East Asia", an apparent reference to the Al Qaeda-linked JI.
It is not immediately possible to verify the claim, which has appeared in a public web forum that has sometimes carried claims from Islamic groups that have turned out to be false.
