NEWSFLASH: John Tamihere Resigns

Scoop understands beseiged Labour Party Cabinet Minister John Tamihere has resigned from cabinet. The news is circulating in Parliament and we are presently seeking confirmation.

A fortnight ago Mr Tamihere was stood down from his ministerial duties pending an inquiry by a Q.C. into certain matters relating to his time as CEO of the Waipareira Trust, and to a $195,000 payout made on his leaving.

Yesterday the Serious Fraud Office confirmed that they were inquiring into $100,000 worth of invoices allegedly made out to bogus businesses.
