Tariana Explains Why Her Vote Went To Clem

Tariana Explains Why Her Vote Went To Clem

Scoop: Why did you vote for Clem Simich as Speaker rather than Margaret Wilson or Ken Shirley?

Tariana Turia: Because I found Clem Simich very good in the role of Speaker. He is also one of the real gentlemen of Parliament. He is very respectful to everybody and I looked at our kaupapa -and his behaviour is always mana enhancing – so that's why I voted for him.

Scoop: So it was purely because you'd seen him do the job before and you had faith in him?

Tariana Turia: Yes and I just think that he [Mr Simich] is extremely respectful to all people at all time and I like that.
