Tanveer Jafri: Time Not Ripe For ‘Bush The Great’

Time Not Ripe For ‘Bush The Great’

By Tanveer Jafri

American President George Bush may have made up his mind, personally, to thrust war upon Iran, but it doesn’t seem easy to attack for him. United Nations Security Council’s Resolution regarding sanctions against Iran or domestic politics in America or upheaval in American Supreme Intelligence Agency CIA, George Bush is constantly seems under pressure.

In the last days, when Pentagon informed the American public that 69 American soldiers lost their lives in Iraq in the month of April, next day it resulted in road demonstration of lacs of American citizen in New York. American senior citizens formed a major part of these demonstrators. Along with them Trade Unions, relatives of American soldiers, persons connected with atmospheric pollution & human rights activists took part in great number in this demonstration. The demonstrators immediately demanded withdrawal of American soldiers form Iraq. At the same time, the demonstrators warned President Bush, to not to try to repeat the mistake of attacking Iran. A rally to be organized under the banner of United for Peace & Justice, a social organization, in which human rights affairs activists, social workers opposing war, winner of Oscar Award all are trying to form a war opposing opinion in America through this demonstration. These demonstrators held in their hands, the pictures of dead soldiers of their relatives who were killed in Iraq war. The speakers, in their speeches were clearly saying that Iraq war wasn’t a war in reality; it was a world spread terror by Bush administration. It is illegal & isn’t acceptable. This huge demonstration organized under Jessie Jackson, who is playing a leading role for the freedom of the American citizens discussed in detail about failure of policies of George Bush & result of the policies leading to insult & bitter criticism of America. These demonstrations clearly reveal that since March 2003, the death of about two & half thousands of the American soldiers in the Iraq war has made the American citizens to oppose George Bush’s inclination of thrusting America in Iran war. This is the reason of George Bush’s declining popularity in America day by day.

On the other hand, there is upheaval in the supreme intelligence organization of America, CIA’s high level leadership. CIA Chief Parter Goss has resigned his post & its circumstances aren’t open. He has refused to give details of the reasons of his resignation & this will remain a secret. It is known that Goss was appointed because CIA has remained completely unsuccessful to foretell about the attacks of September 11, so he was appointed chief in place of George Tenant. Unknown circumstances of Goss’s resignation within two years of his appointment are still not open, but it is clear that CIA has been becoming witness of its failures, for about a decade. It may be about terrorist attack on America on September 11 or excess of confidence of Bush administration in Iraq war or day to day facing of Iraq circumstances or collection of knowing whereabouts of Osama Bin Laden or reorganization of Talibans in Afghanistan, in all these matters CIA’s failure is well known. Obviously this upheaval in CIA is a clear evidence of abnormality in Bush administration.

George Bush hasn’t to face troubles in his domestic or internal affairs but on Iran issue, he is also in troubled waters by United Nations Security Council. Although President Bush may be mistaken as the entire world stood with him at the time of September 11, attack & was opposing global terrorism on human grounds, perhaps he expects the same on the Iran’s nuke issue. But this didn’t happen. Not to speak of implementing sanctions on Iran but the world opinion latterly opposed the thrusting of war on Iraq by George Bush. On Iran issue, the present circumstances in United Nations Security Council seem unchanged. Russia & China, the permanent members have opposed sanctions on Iran suggested by Britain & France & they have expressed their objections on this resolution. It is noteworthy that the resolution of sanctions against Iran is proposed under chapter 7 of the United Nation’s Charter, by Britain & France. If United Nations Security Council possesses this resolution, then under this resolution sanctions can be implemented against Iran along with there can be a military action against Iran.

In the mean time, Iran has strongly repeated in Security Council that his Uranium Enrichment Programme is for electricity generation & not for atomic weapons. Iran has been declaring again & again that it isn’t ready to move back of its Uranium Enrichment Programme & is ready to give every sacrifice for it. Iran’s clear argument is that as Iran is a free & sovereign country so it has all rights to take any step for its development. Not only has this, in spite of all threats from America, Iran started its Uranium Enrichment Programme with full vigour. Even international nuke watch agency’s chief, Al-Bardei’s efforts to visit Iran & persuade it to abandon its Uranium Enrichment Programme has been unsuccessful. He has even submitted its report to Security Council in this respect.

Now an important question arises if it is the only truth as George Bush says that is Uranium Enrichment Programme of Iran in the eyes of George Bush is a step towards manufacturing of atomic weapons whereas Iran is rejecting this allegation since its beginning. If we talk about the credibility of George Bush, this was the same allegation of George Bush on Saddam Hussain that is, he is preparing atomic weapons for the destruction of humanity & he has a huge store of such weapons. Saddam Hussain rejected these baseless allegations till he was dethroned. But `Bush the great` didn’t listen to him & on the pretext of these so said weapons of mass destruction, there was destruction of an ancient, historical & religious country like Iraq. American Army of George Bush couldn’t find a single such weapon on the pretext of which there was an attack on Iraq. But one thing is there, the dictator that didn’t care for the interests of America was removed from the dictatorship on the pretence of search of these weapons. In this way it established its control over the limitless oil resources of Iraq.

Now George Bush may be accusing Iran for manufacturing atomic weapons but in reality he has lost his credibility. The constant opposition of Iran by America & just a try to thrust war on it has the same reason, as it was with Iraq. It means that Iranian President Mehmood AhmediNejad doesn’t talk about the interests of America or clearly Nejad or government after Shah Iran; don’t bow his knees before George Bush. Iran is also owner of huge natural oil resources like Iraq, which isn’t liked by George Bush. Now the future will decide if George Bush who is himself passing through time which isn’t good for him & in the course of this criticism & even his popularity are decreasing day by day, will dare to rage a war against Iran where loss of lives is inevitable for only Iranian oil resources.
