Tanveer Jafri: Try George Bush Also

Try George Bush Also

By Tanveer Jafri

The impartial and judicious thinkers of the world welcomed the death sentence pronounced on Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein. At the same time a group that criticises George Bush opposed this death sentence to Saddam Hussein. But the largest group in the world that is also judicious and peace loving, may have raised finger on the persons, who declared judgement or on the way of his death sentence but at the same time they did not deny that Saddam Hussein during his rule, was rude and cruel towards his subject. His retaliation resulted in several massacres and for that he deserved punishment, not less than death sentence. At the same time this group also wants that George Bush should also be tried. The crimes of Saddam Hussein were limited with in the borders of Iraq or at the most its adjacent countries, Kuwait and Iran were affected because of his dictatorial decisions but undoubtedly the wrong, selfish and misleading policies of George Bush have influenced the entire world.

Since about last 1500 years the Christians and the Muslims have made there different recognition and no hatred was visible among the followers of these two religious communities. But the policies of George Bush have forced the Muslim world to think if the Christianity has gird up its Loin against the Islam. There is confrontation of the cultures everywhere. Today it is not a mistake to say that the wrong policies of George Bush have proved that he has proved himself the most infamous president of America and at the same time America has also borne too much insult, in the period of George Bush that never had been previously.

The American Public has told George Bush, through the consequences seen in the mid term poll of the American parliament that American public strongly opposes the wrong policies of George Bush. George Bush has also agreed to it and expressed this confession by questing American Defence Minister Donald Rumsfield, who prepared the war policies of America for Afghanistan and Iraq war. But it is only throwing dust in the eyes of the world. The defeat of the Republican Party and control of the Democratic Party on the American Senate clearly shows that American public is totally against the Iraq policy of George Bush. American public has already warned George Bush that on the pretext of illegal accumulation or manufacturing of the mass killing weapons, the American army should not do the folly of entering Iraq , just walking on the foot prints of Afghanistan. But George Bush on the advice of his 'lovers of oil' friends and acting upon the plan of killing two birds with one stone made a blunder to attack Iraq in 2003, while all the world opposed it. Saddam Hussein went on saying again & again that he had no store of chemical weapons. He got it inspected from the international observers & they inspected the places wherever it was doubted the place of hide. But George Bush acting upon his wrong, dictatorial & arrogant decision threw the American army in the Iraq war.

Today, the condition of Iraq is before the world. The cruel dictator like Saddam is ready to face the punishment of its cruelties & whole Iraq is passing through bad conditions, only because of the American army. All the basic structure of Iraq has been totally destroyed. About 7 lakh Iraqi people have lost their lives on the alter of wrong policies of George Bush. Not only this, the American army which is well known for its alertness in the world has lost about 3000 American soldiers in this Iraq war. Here the question arises, if the Iraq policy of George Bush was right, then why was Rumsfield made a scapegoat? Why did Bush not resign himself? Bush ousted Rumsfield, clearly expresses that Bush accept that the American military action on Iraq was wrong & untimely. Strange, on one side George Bush is depriving his defence minister of his office & on the other side praising his works in Iraq & Afghanistan. Bush after ousting Rumsfield, he praised him to the skies & said that history will always remember the strife that Rumsfield did against terrorism in Afghanistan & Iraq.

The above two facts are very self contradictory. On one side removal of Rumsfield expresses his acceptance of wrong step taken regarding policy & on the other side stressing that whatever has been done in Iraq is right. The victory of the Democratic Party in the American Senate represents that the American public didn't accept the unreasonable deaths of its 3000 soldiers. American public holds George Bush directly responsible for the death of its 3000 soldiers. The fresh public mandate in election has brought it out to the public. Only two days before the elections, Bush himself, addressing an election meeting had said that this election result will be considered a referendum of the American public on the Iraq policy of America. Undoubtedly in it, George Bush has been defeated.

Now again the question is if the loss of only 3000 American soldiers is unbearable to the American public & Rumsfield was made a scapegoat then why George Bush is not responsible for the death of 7 lakhs of the Iraqi citizens? George Bush, who told that Iraq or Iran or Lebanon or Korea are most dangerous for the world has proved by its policies & action that in reality he is the most dangerous man in the world & the greatest culprit too. If he wants to show the world that by making Saddam Hussein reach near the gallows, he has brought a dangerous ruler to his worse, then too he must not forget that the world is under maximum pressure of danger from him. Saddam might not have got so many people killed during his rule; the number killed in the world in the period of George Bush exceeds much than that & that because of his wrong policies.

If America wants the world to accept that the punishment given to Saddam is a right judgement, then George Bush too should be tried in a court. A war criminal trial should be started against him who can be held responsible for the death of lacs of innocent children, women & old persons except Bush? American public must settle account of spoiling the impression of America in the world from Bush. Till George Bush is not made to stand as a war criminal in a court, the world will believe that George Bush & Saddam are not equal before law.
