Audio: Burton And PM Front At Post
Cabinet Presser

For the second time in as many weeks the Prime Minister was joined at her post-cabinet press conference by cabinet minister Mark Burton. This afternoon Mr Burton was wearing his Local Government ministerial hat and explaining that a Royal Commission of Inquiry into issues facing Auckland was in the process of being set up.
The Commission will examine and report on what local and regional governance arrangements are required for the Auckland region over the foreseeable future.
When the Prime Minister had the opportunity to take questions from the media a large number of them were to do with the demise of David Benson-Pope's ministerial career.
From the answers the Prime Minister gave it would appear Mr Benson-Pope is not likely to be getting a Christmas card from her anytime soon after his botched handling of both an employment issue and the media and opposition questions that followed.
