Passing Between The Sun And The Moon

More Moon Shots of The Lunar Eclipse of Tuesday 28 August, 2007

Images By Tim Boobyer

Photos of the Lunar Eclipse taken from Wellington, New Zealand. The eclipse begin at 8:51 PM NZ Time and ended at 12:24 AM, on Tuesday 28 August 2007.

An eclipse occurs when the Earth passes between the sun and the moon, blocking the sun's light. During the full eclipse, the moon will not be completely dark because some light still reaches it around the edges of the Earth.

The next lunar eclipse visible from New Zealand will be on December 21, 2010.
