PM's Presser: John Key's Crime
Speech Assaulted
The PM
addresses the press gallery on National Leader John Key's
youth crime speech – and finds it guilty of being
'Labour-lite' - not that she has fully read it
yet…

This
afternoon the Prime Minister found time to dismiss National
Leader John Key's youth crime orientated speech as 'Labour
lite'. The Prime Minister pointed out that under her
Government Police numbers have been significantly boosted
and then pointed out the failings of past boot camp type
'send em to the army' schemes - 1990s schemes advocated by
Mr Key in a slightly more touchy feely new millenium type
way. The Prime Minister also addressed the death of
Indonesia's former President Suharto. In the Prime
Minister's opinion Mr Suharto left behind a mixed legacy
not least because of Indonesia's appalling human rights
record under his leadership.
