2 million+ deaths in Iraqi Holocaust, Genocide

Iraq invasion 5th anniversary - 2 million excess deaths in Iraqi Holocaust, Iraqi Genocide

by Dr Gideon Polya

On the 5th anniversary of the illegal, war criminal, Australian, UK and US invasion of Iraq there is an ongoing Iraqi Holocaust and Iraqi Genocide in which post-invasion non-violent and violent excess deaths (avoidable deaths) total 1.7-2.2 million, post-invasion under-5 infant deaths total 0.6 million, and there are 4.5 million refugees i.e. equivalent to one quarter of the present 28 million Iraqi population has been rendered Dead or Homeless.

This illegal and war criminal invasion and occupation of Iraq was based on egregious falsehood and occurred after a 12 year period of bombing and sanctions associated with 1.7 million excess deaths from deprivation, 1.2 million under-5 infant deaths and 0.2 million violent deaths in the Gulf War. Excess deaths associated with the anti-Arab anti-Semitic, Islamophobic war on Iraq now total over 4 million for the period 1990-2008, a death toll similar to that of the WW2 Jewish Holocaust (6 million killed including 1 million dying from deprivation).

The Iraqi Holocaust is clearly an Iraqi Genocide as defined by Article 2 of the UN Genocide Convention and indeed is referred to in such terms by outstanding writers such as Tariq Ali, Dr Mark Weissbrot, John Pilger and Dr Paul Craig Roberts. Decent people are obliged to protest what is one of the worst atrocities since the WW2 Holocaust (30 million Slav, Jewish and Roma victims) and to respond to this continuing, gross violation of the fundamental messages of the Holocaust, specifically "zero tolerance for racism" and "never again to anyone".

I have done my duty as an Australian world citizen by sending a detailed formal complaint to the International Criminal Court over the involvement of racist, war criminal, climate criminal Australia in Aboriginal Genocide (90,000 excess Indigenous deaths, 1996-2007), the Iraqi Genocide (4 million excess deaths, 1990-2008), Afghan Genocide (3-6 million excess deaths, 2001-2008) and Climate Genocide ( Professor James Lovelock FRS says that over 6 billion people may perish this century due to unaddressed global warming and Australia is remorselessly continuing as the Developed World´s worst annual per capita greenhouse gas polluter) (see: http://climateemergency.blogspot.com/ ).

Gordon Campbell: On The Law Commission Plan To Scrap Jury Trials

Chances are, scrapping the system of trial by jury is not the top priority for most New Zealanders. Not many of us woke up this morning and felt dead keen on dumping our centuries-old right to be tried by a jury of our peers, while yearning to adopt the French system of justice by a judge and a couple of court-appointed experts.

The French are admired for many things, but I haven’t heard many people acclaim their legal system as being so vastly superior to English law that we should quickly scrap one of the bulwarks of our legal system, in order to be more like the French... More>>
