Letter Re: Michael Collins' Lindauer Hearing

Letter To The Editor

Re: 911 Prediction Revealed at Lindauer Hearing in NYC

Hi, I'm Susan Lindauer, and I want to thank Scoop for helping to break out this story of the abuse I have suffered in the Bush cover up of Iraqi Pre-War Intelligence. Mike Collins is truly an amazing journalist/thinker/blogger. He's got tremendous insight to this issue, and I am truly grateful for his attention to my cause.

The mainstream media has pretty much refused to cover the story. Or else they bludgeon me. For example, the New York Times pulled a Judith Miller on me after the hearing, claiming that I stuck out my tongue and rolled my eyes at the Prosecutor. I categorically deny it!

First of all, I had my back to the guy. So he could not see my face to know whether I rolled my eyes or stuck out my tongue or anything else. Secondly, I was in rapt attention on the Judge & my witnesses. This was my FIRST evidentiary hearing in 4 1/2 years. I was totally focused on testimony. I couldn't believe the New York Times would make something up like that.

More ominous, though is why, in God's name, the New York Times failed to report that a highly credible university professor from Toronto told the Court that I described a major attack involving airplanes & the World Trade Center in the summer before 9/11? You'd think New York Times readers might be interested to know that.

The question begs asking why the NYT does NOT want its readers to know that--

No, Mike did a far superior job! Mike paid careful attention to the details in the witness testimony. And he got it right!! You guys are hitting stories the mainstream won't touch!

Susan Lindauer

Gordon Campbell: On The Law Commission Plan To Scrap Jury Trials

Chances are, scrapping the system of trial by jury is not the top priority for most New Zealanders. Not many of us woke up this morning and felt dead keen on dumping our centuries-old right to be tried by a jury of our peers, while yearning to adopt the French system of justice by a judge and a couple of court-appointed experts.

The French are admired for many things, but I haven’t heard many people acclaim their legal system as being so vastly superior to English law that we should quickly scrap one of the bulwarks of our legal system, in order to be more like the French... More>>
