Remembrance: A Year Since The Death Of Scoop Co-Founder Stephen Thompson
By Alastair Thompson
One year ago this afternoon at 4pm Scoop co-founder, long-serving accountant and patron Stephen Mackendrick Thompson died suddenly and unexpectedly whilst enjoying an afternoon walking near Murchison in the South Island.
He is missed deeply by the Thompson family, several of whom work in the Scoop team and serve on the Scoop Media board.
Yesterday members of Stephen's family gathered in Pukerua Bay and marked his passing with the release of balloons with messages to their husband, father, brother, uncle, friend, cousin, grandfather and parent.
A more complete account of Stephen's life can be viewed in video format (the eulogies from his funeral) here: Obit: Stephen Mackendrick Thompson, 1939 - 2008
