More than two hundred people [figure updated 5/8/09] - of a wide range of ages - braved the Wellington rain to march from Wellington High School to Parliament, protesting the Government's cuts to adult continuing education.
At Parliament the protest was addressed by MPs and others. It was later enlivened by police arresting activist Valerie Morse.
[Update: Valerie Morse was arrested for trespass. Indymedia reports that she was issued with a trespass notice for Parliament in May 2008.
In July, the Speaker offered an apology and cash settlement to those arrested for trespass for a protest at Parliament in 1997.]
