  • Scoop Audio: Audio on demand of Prime Minister John Key’s Post Cabinet Press Conference.

The Foreshore and Seabed legislation will not be repealed until a decision has been made on its replacement, the Prime Minister said today.

Key said his government has been meeting with iwi leaders and he does not think the task ahead “is as difficult as everyone says”.

Today the Prime Minister refused to call self-styled "perk buster" Rodney Hide a hypocrite over his use of MP travel perks, saying it was up to each member to decide whether they use their perks and their actions would be judged by the media.

The PM also discussed the troops in Afghanistan, a trade deal with the Gulf States, his trip to Malaysia and Japan, Prince William's visit next January, cabinet's decision to put an extra $20m into tourism, and the joint coverage bid for the rugby world cup.

Listen below for complete audio of today’s press conference.
