Scoop Images - All Whites Parade, Wellington
The All Whites aren’t exactly conquering heroes, but that didn’t stop fans from showering the team with praise and confetti Wednesday afternoon in downtown Wellington.
The team paraded through the streets, accompanied by fire dancers, stilt walkers, the Wellington Phoenix and the Phoenix’ rivals this weekend, Argentina’s Boca Juniors.
The parade ended at Civic Square, where Prime Minister John Key, Wellington Mayor Kerry Prendergast, Phoenix owner Terry Serepisos and All Whites Coach Ricki Herbert spoke to a crowd of thousands.
