Business Statement

Next week in Parliament the Government would seek to make progress on the debate in reply to the Speech from the Throne, complete maiden speeches and the first readings of a number of bills, Leader of the House Gerry Brownlee said today.

The House would also go into extended sitting hours on Thursday, February 16 to deal with a number of treaty settlement bills which were generally supported across Parliament, he said.

It will be the first time the extended sitting hour provisions will be used as replacement for an Urgency Motion

The annual reports of the Road Safety Trust and the Nelson-Marlborough Fish and Game Council were tabled, then Question Time began.
