New Green MPs will give their maiden speeches this afternoon.
Mojo Mathers, Denise Roche, Julie Anne Genter, Jan Logie, Steffan Browning,Eugenie Sage and Holly Walker will start making their speeches at 4.15.
There is likely to be a great deal of interest in the speech from Mathers - New Zealand’s first profoundly deaf MP - especially after a political row erupted over how her parliamentary funding was organised.
The speeches will follow Question Time and the debate in reply to the Speech from the Throne, which still has seven hours and 28 minutes remaining.
The evening session is expected to see a return to Government bills with the committee stage of the Taxation (International Investment and Remedial Matters) Bill to follow the final speech in the third reading debate of the National Animal Identification and Tracing Bill.
