The Price Of Milk

Dairy industry restructuring and student loans are set for debate when Parliament resumes today.

After Question Time, MPs are scheduled to debate the first reading of the Dairy Industry Restructuring Amendment Bill.

The introduces a new regime for Fonterra’s milk price setting, proposed capital restructure, and share valuation.

Labour has indicated it will oppose the bill as it is not widely supported by farmers.

This bill will be followed by the Student Loan Scheme Amendment Bill’s third reading debate and then a set piece four hour debate on the committee stage of the Appropriation (2010/11 Financial Review) Bill.
