A motion noting with sadness the passing of Major Hone Hikitia Te Rangi Waititi was agreed on a voice vote when Parliament resumed at 2pm on Tuesday.

Two petitions were presented, one from Helen McDonald on behalf of the Board of Trustees of Salisbury School, That the House support the retention of Salisbury School, and note that more than 3,000 people have signed an online petition supporting this request.

The second petition was from Roy Reid on behalf of Grey Power Federation NZ, That the House urge the Government to protect the interests of current and former residents of Christchurch retirement villages in the red zone by increasing their settlement offers.

The annual plan of the Auditor General was presented as was the report of the New Zealand delegates on their political exchange with America.
