When Parliament resumed at 2pm a petition signed by 142,000 people from Greenpeace calling for a halt to all deep sea drilling was presented.

There was also a petition calling for a Royal Commission to inspect all aspect of New Zealand’s child protection systems.

Select Committee reports were tabled on the:

Ngāti Manuhiri Claims Settlement Bill by the Māori Affairs Committee

Ngāti Whātua Orākei Claims Settlement Bill by the Māori Affairs Committee

Hutt City Council (Graffiti Removal) Bill by the Local Government and Environment Committee


MPs began Question Time.
