A Week Of Committee Stages Ahead
The Government would next week seek to make progress on the committee stages of a number of bills, Acting Leader of the House Chris Finlayson said today.
Reading out the weekly Business Statement, Finlayson said these included:
Biosecurity Law Reform Bill;
Commerce Commission (International Co-operation, and Fees) Bill;
Arms (Military Style Semi-automatic Firearms and Import Controls) Amendment Bill;
Juries (Jury Service and Protection of Particulars of Jury List Information) Amendment Bill;
Sentencing (Aggravating Factors) Amendment Bill; and
The eight hour committee stage debate on the Appropriation (2012/13 Estimates) Bill.
Reports were presented from the Law Commission ``The Public's Right to Know: Review of the Official Information Legislation’’ and from the Environment Commissioner on Evaluating Solar Water Heating.
A select committee report was presented on the Report from the Controller and Auditor-General, Public Entities' Progress in Implementing the Auditor-General's Recommendations 2012 by the Finance and Expenditure Committee.
Members Bills drawn out of the Ballot were introduced (These are covered elsewhere on Parliament Today)
