Long Urgency Session Ahead

Parliament has gone into Urgency to make progress on a long list of Government bills.

Leader of the House Gerry Brownlee said there was only limited time for the Government to work on its business on the Order Paper and there were limitations on its use of extended hours, as a result it had been decided to go into Urgency.

The Urgency motion was passed 63 to 35 with National, Maori Party, ACT and Peter Dunne in favour.

MPs began the second reading of the Companies and Limited Partnerships Amendment Bill. Earlier the second reading of the Food Bill was discharged and the bill was sent back to select committee for consideration.
