RMA Reform Debated - House Sits At 9am Thursday |
||
Parliament rose just before 10pm interrupting the committee stage debate of the Resource Management Reform Bill.
Labour’ Marion Street said the bill was the midway point for the Government’s “assault on environmental protections”.
This bill was not the worst, but this was yet to come with another bill due before the House.
National’s Nicky Wagner said the bill would streamline the RMA and ensure it worked better.
Earlier the Estimates debate bill was completed by 63 to 57 with National, Maori Party, ACT and Peter Dunne in favour
The House will resume at 9am tomorrow under Extended Hours provisions for the first readings of the Ngā Mana Whenua o Tāmaki Makaurau Collective Redress Bill, Maungaharuru-Tangitū Hapū Claims Settlement Bill and the Ngā Punawai o Te Tokotoru Claims Settlement Bill.
