TICS Bill Debate Rolls On |
||
Parliament rose just before 6pm interrupting the committee stage debate on the telecommunications interceptions legislation.
After Question Time, Speaker David Carter granted an urgent debate on the resignation of John Banks as a minister which meant it would be difficult to complete the committee stage of Telecommunications (Interception Capability and Security) Bill.
The House rose with MPs debating clauses one and two of the bill – the final debate in the stage. The Government is likely to complete this on Tuesday and then complete the third stage on Thursday.
